A MAN from Andover has been arrested following the robbery of a Salisbury woman.
The identification and arrest of the man came just 70 minutes after a police appeal on Facebook.
The woman, a 20-year-old from Salisbury, was robbed after being pushed and grabbed around the waist.
At around midday on Monday, September 9, the woman was approached by a man did not know in Castle Street.
The man, 46, then grabbed the woman around the waist and pushed her, demanding she hand over a cigarette.
He then demanded money from the woman, who handed over a small amount of cash.
The man walked off in the direction of St Thomas’ Church.
PC Eleanor Darcy said: “The victim in this case did not know the man involved and was left shaken up by his actions. We have released a CCTV image of a man we are keen to speak to in connection with the incident and would urge anyone who may recognise him, or anyone who witnessed the incident, to call 101 and quote crime reference number 54190089369.”
