A SALISBURY man has been fined more than £400 for not purchasing a £13.90 train ticket.
On April 25 Daniel Newman, of Rollestone Street, attempted to travel from Trowbridge using Great Western Railway without having previously paid for a train ticket, Swindon Magistrates' Court heard.
Following the find there was no intention to pay for a ticket.
The 42-year-old was found guilty in absence, and has been fined £220.
He has also been ordered to pay compensation of £13.90, pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £30 and pay costs of £160.
In total, this means he has to pay £423.90.
