THERE are just a few days left for budding writers to enter this year’s Salisbury Story Prize, as part of the 2019 Salisbury Literary Festival.
The competition, which closes on September 30, is split into categories for both children and adults.
The prizes for the children’s categories (Primary School and Secondary School) is £100 in book tokens, courtesy of Sarum College Bookshop – £50 for the winner and £50 for the winner’s school library.
The winner and runner up of the adult category receives a place on the Professional Writing Academy’s Writing Short Fiction course.
The awards will be announced during this year’s Salisbury Literary Festival, which takes place from October 18 to 20.
The winning entries will also be published in the Salisbury Journal.
Festival director Tom Bromley said: “We are always amazed at the originality and ingenuity shown by writers of all ages in entering this competition.
"We’re really looking forward to seeing what Salisbury comes up with this year, on one of the elements that makes our city so special and unique.”
