A SALISBURY tattoo and piercing studio has now moved to the heart of the city, joining up with several other independent businesses in the same building.

Previously on Dews Road, Old Sarum Tattoo and Piercing relocated to Crane Street in August, in order to expand the business and offer its services and new skills in a bigger and more central location.

And the tattoo business is sharing the space with several other independent outlets including Gordon Isle Hair Studio, Hannah George Permanent Make Up and Cindy Clarke Non-surgical Treatments.

Owner of Old Sarum Tattoo and resident artist, Darren Hubbard, said: “We’re just really lucky we’re now in such a top location, we just need to let people know we’re here and tattooing as ever.

“This building was a bit of an empty shell so it’s great we get to do what we want with it now, and customers can really enjoy all sorts of services and treatment under one roof. You could spend hours in here.”

Tattoo artist Hayley Price added: “Even though we have moved we still make sure we’ve got a good relationship with our clients and there is a relaxed and intimate atmosphere.”

As well as being based in Salisbury for eight years, Old Sarum Tattoo has also held a regular spot at the annual Download Festival since 2014, and Darren has done body art on big names in the touring music industry, including members of Bowling for Soup, Steel Panther, Suicide Silence, Halestorm, Monster Truck and Black Stone Cherry.

He has also done tattoos for WWE wrestlers and taken his expertise to various other spots, including Hard Rock Cafes.

“It’s great fun tattooing at festivals and on tours and such a big thing now, it’s just a completely different experience to being in the studio,” Darren added.

Additionally the business offer work experience opportunities for college and school students.

The studios can be found at 87 Crane Street in the city centre, which was previously the Salisbury International Arts Festival offices, and there is one spare room available for an independent business looking to rent.
