ACCESS to Salisbury Household Recycling Centre (HRC) will be affected from this weekend due to roadworks being carried out.

Roadworks will be carried out in Stephenson Road, Salisbury between October 19 to November 17.

Temporary traffic signals and a diversion route via Brunel Road and Telford Road will be in place during the works.

Wiltshire Council say the majority of the work will take place overnight during weekdays, but also during weekends when the HRC will be open.

On Saturday, November 9 and Sunday, November 10, the HRC will be closed as no access will be available.

Residents will be able to use either the Amesbury or Warminster household recycling centres on these dates.

The roadworks are being carried out on behalf of Wiltshire Council by Tarmac and will include carriageway reconstruction, resurfacing, kerbing and footway works.

Councillor Bridget Wayman, the Cabinet Member for Waste said: “We understand these essential roadworks will inconvenience people and we apologise for any disruption it may cause. Unfortunately, we cannot make the necessary repairs to Stephenson Road without this temporary road closure and the closure of the Salisbury Household Recycling Centre.

“We have worked with FCC Environment, the contractor who operate the council-owned HRCs on our behalf, and will be opening the Salisbury Household Recycling Centre for two extra days during the preceding week, on Thursday 7 and Friday 8 November, to help compensate for the weekend closure.”
