A WEST Grimstead councillor has retired after 34 years of service to the community.

Rosemary Clark was recognised for her service on Grimstead Parish Council and had a seat dedicated to her in the playground in Grimstead.

A special presentation was held, which was attended by friends, family and fellow councillors on September 13.

Speaking about her time on the council, Rosemary said: “It was my life really. The village has always been my life.”

But, she says it was time to call it a day and retire from the council, adding: “On the whole I enjoyed it and do miss it.”

Rosemary’s grandfather and uncle previously served on the council as well as her husband Tony.
