MAJOR road works have returned to Amesbury as Wiltshire Council finish a job that started earlier this year.

The A345 from the Countess Roundabout into Amesbury Town centre is closed overnight for 10 nights starting October 21, from 7pm to 6am excluding weekends, until Friday, November 1.

Salisbury Journal:

The main diversion route for all "through" traffic is east on A303, south then west on Porton Road, Boscombe Road, Underwood Drive and Stockport Avenue, north on A345,

There will be points during the material laying process where vehicular access will be restricted as residents won't be able to drive over the newly laid material, as early trafficking could lead to premature failure.

The council has also warned that works may overrun due to "uncontrollable circumstances such as plant breakdowns, if weather conditions are unfavourable, or occasionally we discover the need for additional repairs once the work has started."
