JOBS losses have been confirmed at one of Andover's biggest employers, but exact numbers have yet to be confirmed.

Simplyhealth last week completed a consultation with staff over proposals to axe as many as 195 jobs.

The provider of health, dental and pet health plans has not stated where the redundancies could hit or the exact number, but it has said that it is now informing employees who have been impacted by the changes.

Richard Gillies, chief operating officer at Simplyhealth, said: “Simplyhealth is moving towards a new model to help us meet the rapidly changing healthcare needs of our customers. This has meant a reshape of our current teams so we have the right skills and expertise within the business to support our long-term business goals.

“Last week we concluded a period of collective consultation with employee representatives, and have now started to confirm outcomes for any employees working in roles impacted by the changes.

“We continue to do everything we can to explore alternative options for those employees at risk of redundancy within the Simplyhealth business, as well as supporting those employees who will be leaving us over the coming weeks.

“These changes have not been undertaken lightly, and are part of our investment in the future success of the Simplyhealth business and brand.”

Simplyhealth merged with Denplan in 2017, with the latter becoming known as Simplyhealth Professionals.
