EMERGENCY services were called to a building in Poole town centre following reports of a man on the roof.
Police were called to Lagland Street just before 5pm on Thursday before asking the fire service to attend.
Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service attended with an aerial ladder platform from Westbourne, a technical rescue team from Poole and a crew from Hamworthy.
Firefighters investigated the scene before a stop message was received at 5.37pm.
A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: “We were called at 4.56pm on Thursday 31 October 2019 to reports of a man on the roof of a building in Lagland Street.
"Officers and the fire service attended. Firefighters searched the roof but no one was seen.”
