THE A36 between West Wellow and Ower has reopened following a gas leak.
The major road was closed in both directions between Salisbury Road, Ower and Crawley Hill, West Wellow, yesterday.
A statement on the SGN website said: "The A36 Salisbury Road has now been reopened in both directions, between its junction with A27 at Whiteparish and Romsey Road at Ower."
It said engineers had been working "round the clock" to make "urgent repairs" to the gas network."
The statement added: "We'd like to thank the local community for their patience and understanding."
