NEW Forest hotel Burley Manor has been named ‘Best Countryside Hotel’ at the 37th Condé Nast Johansens Awards for Excellence.

An award ceremony was held on Monday, November 4 at The May Fair Hotel in London.

The Awards for Excellence are created to acknowledge, reward and celebrate excellence across Condé Nast Johansens’ recommended properties and are a trusted mark of quality recognised by consumers and travel professionals alike.

Adam Wilson, the general manager of Burley Manor, said: “Every year, there are only a small handful of properties that make it to the top of the awards, and we are so pleased and excited that Burley Manor has been recognised by Condé Nast Johansens as the best countryside hotel.

“It is a real testament to all the hard work and commitment from our entire team, from the chefs in the kitchen to the housekeeping team, that go above and beyond for every guest.

“We want our guests to feel as if they are at home in the countryside when they stay at the Manor, away from the hustle and bustle of daily life, so we greatly appreciate this recognition and will continue to offer the best service and experience for all our guests.”

Burley Manor was refurbished in 2015. This year, it has launched its new 15-mile menu, where all the ingredients are sourced within 15 miles or less from the estate.

Ben Johnson, the executive head chef of Burley Manor, added: “Along with the whole team at Burley Manor, we are delighted to win this award as our location in the heart of the New Forest is hugely important to the restaurant.

“Our restaurant really is at the heart of the Burley Manor experience and our menus remain true to the seasons and local producers, as we continue to surprise and delight guests every time they visit.

“It is great to be recognised for our team’s dedication and passion for delivering the best food, made with the finest ingredients, in a beautiful setting.”
