A HORSE RIDER was badly injured when she was thrown from her horse in the New Forest.
The incident happened at Silver Sands, about a mile from the Burley to Thorney Hill road.
She was seen by dog walkers trying to control her horse on a steep incline before she was thrown off.
The dog walkers raised the alarm and South Central Ambulance sent a several units to the scene including a HART team with an off-road vehicle and a critical care team.
The Wiltshire Air Ambulance was sent and landed close-by. The woman received treatment at the scene before she was flown to hospital.
The horse ran off before being captured unharmed near Thorney Hill Crossroads.
