VISITWILTSHIRE has scooped an award for the Best UK Tourist Board Website in the TravelMole UK Awards.

This is the second time VisitWiltshire has won this award after first receiving it in 2015.

This year, VisitWiltshire was one of three finalists in the category of Best UK Tourist Board Website, which also included Visit Wales and Visit Isle of Wight.

Finalists were chosen based on content, layout, ease of navigation, and innovation.

Each award category was open to public vote, with participants asked to cast their vote by visiting TravelMole UK’s website.

The awards ceremony was held on Wednesday, November 20 in Soho, London with travel companies, tourist boards, suppliers, and other travel industry professionals in attendance.

The TravelMole UK Awards recognises business and organisations specialising in travel, that have made a significant impact in web, social, mobile and technology.

Winners from the event include Jet2holidays, Travelzoo, Visit Jamaica, icelolly.com, Hays Travel and Kuoni.

Fiona Errington, the marketing manager at VisitWiltshire, said: “We are delighted to win this award and grateful to all those who voted for us.

"We have invested in additional resource this year to ensure that VisitWiltshire’s website is kept up-to-date with the latest information and provides inspiration to those who are visiting our beautiful county.”

The award also recognised VisitWilshire's channel website, Visit Salisbury.

VisitWiltshire is the destination management and marketing organisation for Wiltshire, which represents 500 partners. It is a public/private sector membership organisation.
