A WEBCAST of the Strategic Planning Committee meeting taking place in Trowbridge tomorrow will be available for members of the public to watch from Salisbury City Hall.

The meeting is set to discuss 640 new Salisbury homes, and the decision to hold it 35 miles away, on the day before the General Election, has been met with widespread public opposition.

The meeting will also be broadcast online, so anyone can watch it live, but the Council has confirmed it "does not have the technology available at the current time to enable interactive public speaking from the room in Salisbury".

There will, however, be a planning officer attending in Salisbury, who will be able to answer any questions relating to the application.

A statement from the Council added: "We have also agreed that for those registered to speak, transport to attend the meeting at County Hall from the Salisbury area can be provided if required."

The meeting will be held in the Council Chamber of the County Hall in Trowbridge, at 10.30am, on Wednesday, December 11.
