THE characters of Beatrix Potter’s The Tailor of Gloucester are jumping from the storybook pages onto the Salisbury stage this Christmas.

The production runs until December 28 and follows the story of the dressmaker and her cat in a race against time to get the mayor’s new coat ready in time for Christmas.

The children’s tale will be brought to life on the Salberg stage with music, puppetry and magic, and has been adapted by composer Glyn Kerslake and writer and Wiltshire Creative artistic director, Gareth Machin.

The cast includes Glyn Kerslake (The Night Before Christmas, Little Robin Redbreast) as The Musician, while Lara Stubbs (The Night Before Christmas) plays the Tailor.

Natalie Williams (Perfectly Ordinary, Hope Mill Theatre) plays Simpkin and Jake Mitchell (Offie-nominated Flat Out) plays the Flunkey.
