A MAN has been fined £215 after assaulting a police officer in Tidworth.
Aaron Heathcote, 27, of Curzon Street, Calne, pleaded guilty to the offence when he appeared at Salisbury Magistrates Court yesterday (Friday, January 3).
On November 29, the officer attended a report of a disorder in Forest Drive.
While the officer was at the scene and talking with Heathcote, he momentarily looked away and was hit in the face by the defendant.
The assault was witnessed by other officers at the scene.
The officer who was assaulted was not injured.
Heathcote was also ordered to pay £85 costs, £32 to victim support and compensation of £50.
