DANCE and sports groups are being sought to be part of outdoor family events at this year’s Salisbury International Arts Festival which will attract hundreds of people into the city.

There are a number of performance opportunities available for local dance groups or for individuals of all ages, abilities and styles at festival events on Sunday, May 24 and Friday, May 29.

There is also an opportunity for local sports groups to showcase their group’s work at an event on Sunday, May 24.

Wiltshire Creative is also seeking local artists to create family friendly workshops and activities at three Family Fiesta events on various dates in May.

Singers are encouraged to join the festival chorus and perform a new choral work under the musical direction of Howard Moody in Salisbury Cathedral on Friday, May 22.

Salisbury International Arts Festival runs from May 22 until June 9.

Details of this year’s festival programme of events will be announced in February.

Wiltshire Creative says the 2020 Salisbury International Arts Festival will “celebrate the beauty, courage and joy of human movement”.

It says: “Wiltshire Creative is delighted to be a founding partner of Salisbury 2020, City on the Move which celebrates the 800th anniversary of the founding of modern Salisbury.”

The deadline for applications to participate in the 2020 festival is 9am on Monday, January 20.
