A TEENAGER has avoided going to jail after admitting drugs offences.

Harry Russell, aged 19, of Old Farmhouse Close, Shipton Bellinger, appeared at Salisbury Crown Court on Monday (January 13) for sentencing.

He had previously pleaded guilty to two counts of being concerned in the supply of cocaine and cannabis.

Russell was given an 18-month prison sentence suspended for two years and ordered to complete 180 hours of unpaid work.

He must also take part in rehabilitation activities and pay £480 in court charges and costs.

A 17-year-old boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, who had previously pleaded guilty to being concerned in the supply of cannabis and possession of a Class B and Class C drugs, was handed a nine-month referral order.

In March 2019, police officers stopped a vehicle in Park Road, Tidworth, which led to more than £1,000 worth of drugs being seized.
