A SOUTH Wiltshire woman, who was found driving under the influence of cocaine and cannabis, has been arrested.

At around 10.30pm on Saturday officers from Wiltshire Police spotted a car driving on London Road, Amesbury, with just one headlight working, and after checks it was found to not hold a valid MOT.

The car was stopped and after suspicions the driver was under the influence of drugs, a test concluded that the class A and B drugs had been used.

While searching the car, officers found packets of white powder, which were also later found in the suspect's home in Coombe Bissett.

A 50-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of possessing cocaine and driving a vehicle while unfit through drugs.

She has been released under investigation while enquiries continue.

Sargeant James Osment said: "This was a good find where our officers going about their regular work of stopping a car without an MOT discovered the driver was under the influence of drugs and a number of suspicious packages not only in her vehicle but also at her address.

"We take the issue of illegal drug use in Wiltshire very seriously.

"If you risk being in possession of illegal drugs in our county be prepared to be caught and face the possibility of a custodial sentence."
