STAFF from Fordingbridge Surgery showed their support for an urgent appeal to replace Avonway Community Centre’s leaky roof.

The surgery raised £102.68 by holding some festive fundraising events events including a Christmas jumper day on Friday, December 20.

Other events organised by various members of the team included a number of staff spending many hours cooking up treats for the Fordingbridge Surgery Christmas Bake Off competition.

The bake off was expertly judged by the surgery’s health check POD volunteer, Nick Jones and his wife Melanie.

Throughout December surgery staff took part in a Christmas-themed fundraising quiz.

Practice manager Michelle Raymond said: “The staff at Fordingbridge Surgery were keen to choose Avonway Roof Fund as their charity of choice this Christmas.

“The staff wanted to help this worthwhile cause as Avonway is a valuable resource for people in the community.”

Avonway Community Centre launched an appeal last year to raise in the region of £70,000 to carry out the urgent repairs.
