FIND out what it was like growing up as the son of one of Britain’s best loved comedians.

Andy Secombe, the son of Harry Secombe, brings his one man-show You’re Not As Funny As Your Father to The Salberg in Salisbury Playhouse from Thursday, January 30 until Saturday, February 1.

Harry Secombe was one of the country’s best loved stars. From the anarchic Goon Show to appearances on the Sunday ‘God slot’ television programmes.

He was also a regular at the London Palladium, starred in Pickwick on Broadway and played Mr Bumble in the film of Oliver!

In this show, Andy – himself an actor who appeared at Salisbury Playhouse in Handbagged last spring – explores the nature of inherited celebrity and gives an insight into being the son of a man who counted Peter Sellers, Spike Milligan, Tommy Cooper, Beryl Reid, Bruce Forsyth and Prince Charles as close friends.

This is a warm and affectionate look at life with one of Britain’s best-loved entertainers from the fringes of the spotlight.

Andy Secombe has a long career as an established actor including appearances in The Bill, Casualty and Killing Eve.

Among his many credits, Andy voiced Watto in Star Wars Episode I – The Phantom Menace and Episode II – Attack of the Clones.
