Alderholt Drama Club will be treading the boards with its 71st annual pantomime.

This year’s offering is Humpty Dumpty, written by Bob Heather and Cheryl Barrett.

Humpty Dumpty, a troll, has been imprisoned in a giant egg for more than 100 years. Legend says that the egg is cursed and if the egg should fall then the good fortune of the Kingdom of Albuminia will run out and misery and mayhem will reign.

The wicked fairy, Salmonella, is intent upon making the legend come true. Will he succeed? – Or will the combined forces of the good fairy Soufflé and all the townsfolk foil his evil plans? Do come along and see!

The show runs from today until Saturday, starting at 7.45pm. There is also a matinee on Saturday at 2.30pm.

Tomorrow night is “charity night” and 50 per cent of the raffle proceeds will be donated to this year’s charity, Alderholt Scouts, who are fundraising for their new headquarters.

Tickets are available in advance from the village Co-op store or can be purchased on the door. The matinee is very popular and tickets are limited.
