A round-up of cases from Salisbury Magistrates Court:

STUART DRAKE, aged 53, of Rollestone Street, Salisbury, pleaded guilty to stealing a £35 handbag from the city’s TK Maxx on December 4 last year. He was ordered to pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £90.

JAMES HAGGATY, aged 25, of North View, Berwick Saint James, pleaded guilty to five incidents of bilking between August and October last year. During this time he stole fuel from five different service stations across Wiltshire. The defendant also stole food from New Road Service Station, Codford, when he stole fuel from the site on October 8 last year. He was ordered to pay a total compensation of £138.86 for all the fuel and food stolen, as well as a surcharge to fund victim services of £46 and costs of £85.

RYAN LEE, aged 19, of Elm Park Close, Houghton Regis, pleaded guilty for drug driving through Ludgershall. On July 6 last year the defendant drove a Mercedes-Benz along the A342 with a controlled drug in his system - exceeding the legal limit with 5.6 micrograms of analyte per litre of blood. He was fined £120 and was ordered to pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £32 and costs of £85. Lee was also disqualified from holding a driving license for 12 months.

OWEN PEARCE, aged 21, of New Road, Durrington, pleaded guilty to causing two women alarm and distress through his words and behaviour, in Amesbury on July 5 last year. On the same day the defendant damaged a parasol to the value of £70 belonging to The Amesbury Archer. He was fined £240 in total and was ordered to pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £32, costs of £85 and compensation of £70.

DARREN TROTMAN, aged 27, of Rollsetone Street, Salisbury, admitted breaching a community order made by the County of Wiltshire Magistrates Court on August 19 last year, by failing to attend three unpaid work sessions. He was ordered to pay costs of £60 and must complete 130 hours of unpaid work within the next twelve months.

JOSHUA ENGLAND, aged 24, of Hilltop Way, Salisbury, admitted breaching a community order made by Basingstoke Magistrates Court on June 3 last year, by failing to attend two unpaid work sessions.

The community order will continue, and the defendant was fined £50 and was ordered to pay costs of £60.

PAUL GLADDING, aged 47, of Rollestone Street, Salisbury, admitted breaching his community order, by failing to attend two office appointments. The order was originally made after Gladding stole alcohol and confectionary from stores in Devizes on April 5 last year. He was ordered to pay costs of £60 and must attend rehabilitation activities for up to a maximum of 20 days.

GARY DUNCAN, aged 53, of The Crusades, Bishopdown, pleaded guilty to driving while exceeding the legal alcohol limit. On December 12 last year he was driving a BMW along London Road, Salisbury, with 76 microgrammes of alcohol in every 100 millilitres of breath. He was fined £386 and was ordered to pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £38 and costs of £85. The defendant was also disqualified from holding a driving license for 18 months.

FRANCISCO GARCIA, aged 32, of Los Gallardos, Almeria, pleaded guilty to driving while exceeding the legal alcohol limit. On December 13 last year he was driving a Vauxhall along Pembroke Road in Bemerton Heath, Salisbury, with 65 microgrammes of alcohol in every 100 millilitres of breath. He was fined £440 and was ordered to pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £44 and costs of £85. The defendant was also disqualified from holding a driving license for 17 months.
