POLICE have issued an appeal for witnesses after a pedestrian was hit by car on a major Wiltshire road.

Emergency services were called out at 7.45pm following a collision on the A350 near to Kington Langley north of Chippenham where a pedestrian had been involved in a collision with a car.

A man in his 20s was taken to Southmead Hospital in Bristol by land ambulance for treatment.

He was initially believed to have suffered serious injuries, but following assessment was discharged this morning with minor injuries.

The driver of the car, a black BMW, remained at the scene. No arrests have been made.

The northbound carriageway of the A350, close to Junction 17 with the M4, was closed for around four hours.

Police said: "We believe there were at least two vehicles driving in the area which left before police arrived and whose occupants may be witnesses.

"We are appealing for anyone with information, including anyone who has dash cam footage which may assist our enquiries, to contact Wiltshire Police's Collision Investigation Unit on 101, quoting log 291 of 11/02.
