A round-up of cases from Salisbury Magistrates Court:

RONALD HUMPHREY, aged 79, of Nadder Close, Tisbury, pleaded guilty to harassment, after he posted malicious letters and waved a stick in a threatening manner. The incidents took place between January 1 and September 4 last year in Tisbury. Humphrey was discharged conditionally for 18 months, and was ordered to pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £21 and costs of £85.

BRANDON WARD, aged 21, of Larkhill Camp, Larkhill, pleaded guilty to driving while exceeding the legal alcohol limit. On December 10 last year he was driving the vehicle along High Street, Bulford, with 62 microgrammes of alcohol in every 100 millilitres of breath. The vehicle used by Ward was taken unlawfully, meaning he also did not have the appropriate policy of insurance, and damage was caused to both the taken vehicle and another on the road. He was fined £323 and was ordered to pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £90 and costs of £85. The defendant was also disqualified from holding a driving license for 17 months and 12 months, and must carry out 75 hours of unpaid work.

HUGO JAQUISS, aged 19, of Church Lane, Figheldean, pleaded guilty to driving while exceeding the legal alcohol limit. On December 15 last year he was driving a Nissan Micra along London Road, Amesbury, with 105 microgrammes of alcohol in every 100 millilitres of breath. He was ordered to pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £90 and costs of £85. The defendant was also disqualified from holding a driving license for two years, and must carry out 80 hours of unpaid work.

GARY METCALFE, aged 33, of no fixed abode in Salisbury, was issued a warrant for arrest without bail for stealing £50 worth of alcohol. On June 13 last year the defendant stole a bottle of Baileys, a bottle of Drambuie and a bottle of Malibu from Salisbury Waitrose.

TATENDA MUSHANDU, aged 34, of Maple Way, Amesbury, pleaded guilty to possessing cocaine in Salisbury on December 13 last year. He was fined £120 and was ordered to pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £85 and costs of £32.

FELIX REILLY, aged 33, of no fixed abode in Salisbury, was issued a warrant for arrest without bail for failing to surrender to custody at Salisbury Magistrates’ Court on January 10. On December 4 last year he used threatening words and behaviour towards a woman.
