SALISBURY District Hospital has offered reassurances to patients after recent speculation on social media.
Posts on Facebook last night suggested there were people wearing hazmat suits in accident and emergency department, and that it was no longer accepting patients.
A spokesperson for Salisbury District Hospital said: “The A&E Department at Salisbury District Hospital is currently extremely busy and has been for the past 24 hours.
"We apologise if anyone experiences a delay in being seen as staff prioritise the most urgent cases.
"As always we would ask that people use A&E wisely and only visit when it is a genuine emergency.”
Another comment on a Facebook post suggested that there was a suspected case of coronavirus at the hospital, but no cases have been confirmed.
