CATRIONA Bausor the Basingstoke Hockey Club Ladies captain became the second ever hockey play to receive the Basingstoke Gazette Sports Personality of the Year award following in the footsteps of Alex Danson.
The 29-year-old from Hook is an inspirational leader and pivotal player having guilded the Ladies to three promotions in the last four years.
This season for the first time in the club's history they play at the National League level.
Bausor first joined her local club at the age of 14 playing for the fifth team and two years later made her first team debut.
She was delighted and surprised to win the award and said: "I must thank everyone who voted for me and hockey is all about the team, so they have helped me win this award."
Bausor celebrated her success on Friday night, but scoring the winning goal for the Ladies the following day in their 2-1 win over Oxford Hawks.
