THE Basingstoke Bison can move into third spot in the National League with three games left to play, if they beat the visiting Peterborough Phantoms in regulation time on Saturday night (6.30pm).

Going into the weekend, the Phantoms hold a one point advantage over the Herd with both teams having played 48 games.

After this the Bison will travel to Hull on Sunday night (5.30pm) before a double header with Bracknell on the last weekend of the regular season.

For Peterborough they are at home to second placed Swindon on Sunday and then face the same opponents away a week on Saturday, before they finish at home to Leeds.

Peterborough currently lead the league series over the Bison 4-3 having won on their last visit to Basingstoke in January, but they did lose on their two previous league visits to Hampshire.

On Sunday night, the Bison travel to fifth placed Hull, where they lost back in November, but they did beat them on home ice in January.

Player/coach Ashley Tait said: "At the moment the aim is to keep on winning and see where it takes us."
