YOUNG musicians are to take centre stage in Salisbury to showcase their musical talents.

Salisbury Area Young Musicians is holding its annual Spring Spectacular Concerts in the City Hall this weekend.

There are two concerts taking place on Sunday (March 15) featuring a wide variety of groups, skill levels and ages.

The afternoon concert features string performances and Salisbury Youth Orchestra and two choirs.

The evening concert showcases wind bands, advanced recorders and jazz.

The organiser of the Spring Spectacular Concerts, Richard Parsons, said: “This is a fantastic celebration of youth music making not to be missed.”

“It’s a wonderful opportunity for our young musicians to perform in a great concert venue,” he added.

Salisbury Area Young Musicians is now in its thirty second year and has mentored thousands of Salisbury’s young musicians.

Supported by Wiltshire Connect and the Arts Council Salisbury Area Young Musicians relies on public support at events such as the concerts to keep fees as low as possible.

The first Sunday concert is at 2.15pm and the second is at 7.15pm.

Adult prices are £10 for one concert and £16 for two concerts. For those 18 and under tickets cost £5 per concert.
