STAFF from Symonds and Sampson in Salisbury helped raise £6,000 for charity - taking on challenges including a skydive and the Great South Run.

Symonds and Sampson LLP’s chosen charities last year were Wessex Heartbeat and Bournemouth Hospital Charity. However, the Salisbury decided to raise money to support the Stars Appeal.

On September 7, Philip Pollard, Tim Hale and Theresa Wootton took part in a tandem skydive.

Philip says “ I still do not know what made me say the words 'I know, I’ll do a sky dive', but I did and then promptly regretted it but by then both my secretary, Theresa and Tim Hale had agreed to join me in this mad venture”.

Despite nerves, the three sky divers did their jump.

And on October 20, Jack Edwards, Annie Helliwell and Derryn Pollard, laced up their running shoes to take on the Great South Run in Portsmouth.

The Salisbury office alone raised £6,000 between the three charities of which £2,317.60 went to support The Stars Appeal.

A spokesperson for Symonds and Sampson in Salisbury said: "We are very grateful for all the support and donations received from our clients in our fundraising efforts and having attended a presentation at Salisbury Hospital it highlighted just what an amazing job the Stars Appeal does in paying for those extras which make a stay in Salisbury Hospital a little more bearable."
