A round-up of cases from Salisbury Magistrates Court:

LEWIS HUGHES, aged 22, of The Dene, Hindon, indicated a plea of guilty to possessing a billhook on Odstock Road, Salisbury, on April 23 last year. He was ordered to pay compensation of £150, a surcharge to fund victim services of £85 and costs of £85. He was also ordered to attend the instructed rehabilitation appointments or activities and complete 80 hours of unpaid work.

STEPHEN LAWRENCE, aged 24, of Castle Road, Salisbury, pleaded guilty to assaulting a man through beating and indicated a plea of guilty to possessing 0.5g of cocaine. Both incidents took place in Salisbury on July 20 last year. He was fined £75 and was ordered to pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £32.

LAURA DAVID, aged 32, of Langemarck Close, Bulford, pleaded guilty to driving while exceeding the legal alcohol limit. On January 5 she was driving a Hyundai Coupe along Porton Road, Amesbury, with 54 microgrammes of alcohol in every 100 millilitres of breath. She was fined £80 and was ordered to pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £32 and costs of £85. The defendant was also disqualified from holding a driving licence for 12 months.

JENNIFER HILLIER, aged 58, of Barnard Street, Salisbury, pleaded guilty to stealing a bottle of cider from Salisbury’s Tesco Metro on January 5. A conditional discharge was already imposed on December 6 last year, when Hillier used threatening words and behaviour in Salisbury on November 15. She was fined £10 and was ordered to pay compensation of £2.05. The defendant’s time spent in custody was considered time served for the offence.

AIDEN HOPE, aged 24, of Collingwood Mews, Salisbury, pleaded guilty to being responsible for a car when exceeding the legal alcohol limit. On January 1 he was in charge of a Nissan Micra on Western Way, Salisbury, with 85 microgrammes of alcohol in every 100 millilitres of breath. He was fined £292 and was ordered to pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £32 and costs of £85. His driving record was endorsed with 10 points.

LEON THORLEY, aged 28, of Federation Road, Burslem, pleaded guilty to driving in Tidworth after consuming drugs. The incident took place on July 20 last year when Thorley was driving a Ford Fiesta along the A303 in Shipton Bellinger, Tidworth, with 8.4 micrograms of drug per litre of blood. He was fined £80 and was ordered to pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £32. He was also disqualified from holding a driving licence for three years.
