Officers are appealing for witnesses following a "nasty unprovoked assault" in Endless Street, Salisbury.

At approximately 4.45pm yesterday (March 25), a man in his 30s was crossing the road when a man got out of his car and verbally abused him.

He then assaulted the man by punching him to the face, knocking him to the ground and causing his nose and lip to bleed.

PC Ben Dooley said: “This was a nasty unprovoked assault. From speaking with the victim, we understand that there were a number of witnesses to the incident, who helped provide first aid. I am appealing specifically to these individuals – please get in contact as you may have information which could help with our investigation.

“We will not tolerate behaviour like this – this man’s actions have left the victim feeling understandably frightened and that is completely unacceptable.”
