The coronavirus death toll in Salisbury has risen to five after three more patients have been confirmed to have died at the city's hospital.

Two men in their 70s and a man in his 80s are the latest patients confirmed to have passed away after contracting Covid-19.

A spokesperson from Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust said: “Sadly three additional patients who had tested positive for COVID-19 have died at Salisbury District Hospital.

“A man in his seventies died at Salisbury District Hospital on March 28.

“A man in his seventies, who had underlying health conditions, died at Salisbury District Hospital on March 29.

“A man in his eighties, who had underlying health conditions, died at Salisbury District Hospital on March 30.

“Our thoughts and condolences are with the patients family and friends at this difficult and distressing time.”

On Monday, the hospital also confirmed the death of a woman in her 80s, who passed away last Wednesday, March 25.

A man in his 50s who had underlying health conditions, was the virus’s first victim in the city. He passed away on March 11.
