SALISBURY Reds has adjusted its temporary timetable further to accommodate key workers travelling in-and-around the city.

It comes after the bus operator announced timetable reductions that came into place on Sunday, April 5, with changes to its R1, 2,4,5,6 and 10 services, as well as the PR3, 7, 9, 11 and 15, x4 and x7 routes.

Salisbury Reds has been reducing its services in the light of the current coronavirus situation - while encouraging key workers to get in touch if the new timings create travel issues.

It has tweaked several of its journey times, after receiving specific requests from those carrying out vital roles in the city.

The first PR3 from Wilton will now leave at 6.24am instead of 6.32am - to enable a connection with the R1 which serves Salisbury District Hospital.

PR11 will operate 10 minutes earlier than planned, so now the first journey will be 6.20am.

The 7.05pm X4 from Salisbury will serve the Beehive park and ride site - and will run via Old Sarum.

“We understand the need for key workers to travel to-and-from work in order to provide vital public services,” said Salisbury Reds managing director, Andrew Wickham.

“With that in mind, we asked anyone who falls within this category who is experiencing difficulties in travelling, to contact us via the website and social media. We promised we would do all we could to assist. The feedback we have received has given us the opportunity to adjust our temporary timetable.

“We must stay flexible, and are changing our services to help make connections to Salisbury District Hospital easier.

“Like everyone else in the UK, we are hugely grateful to all those working tirelessly in the NHS - and within other vital services - particularly during this testing time. I would also like to thank our own team for doing everything possible to help key workers get travel, so they can carry out their roles.”
