A FIRE involving a refuse lorry was extinguished in Sixpenny Handley this morning (April 13)
Fire crews from Verwood and Cranborne along with a water carrier appliance from Wilton were called to the incident in Sheasby Close at around 10.15am.
Smoke was coming from the rear of the vehicle and firefighters used a hose reel jet and a main line to put out the fire.
As a precaution the Cranborne and Verwood fire crews followed the lorry back to its depot in Blandford where its load was emptied and dampened down.
