A SALISBURY spa has set up a pamper fund as a way of saying thank you to frontline NHS workers responding to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Vita Skin Spa has set up a scheme to offer spa treatments to frontline workers once its spa re-opens to "give back to the amazing people who are working so hard".

Members of the public can donate to the fund and can nominate a NHS worker. For every £10 donated by the public, Vita Skin Spa will add £5 extra to the fund.

The owner of Vita Skin Spa, Nikki Spicer, said: “We are collecting for our local NHS staff and once our spas re-open, we will use the fund to give spa treatments to our frontline workers. They can choose whether to have their treatment in our Salisbury or Winchester spa.

“Everyone who donates to the fund can nominate an NHS worker (one nomination per £10 donated). We are sharing their nominations and messages of support on our social media. Then once we re-open we will draw from these nominations to treat as many people as possible to a spa treatment.”

One of the nominations has been for Yasmin Kerr. Her friend Victoria nominated her and wrote: "She works on the frontline caring for patients with Covid-19, picking up extra shifts to help her colleagues and is in need of a break. She is also an extremely supportive best friend with a great sense of humour and I do not know what I’d do without her."

Nikki said: “We have found it very humbling to read the nominations so far and look forward to receiving more over the coming months. To all NHS workers, a big thank you from all of us here at Vita for all of your hard work. We look forward to treating some of you later in the year.”
