A cyclist died after falling from his bike. police said.
The man, 80s, was found in a rural lane in Seend on Friday morning.
A spokesman for Wiltshire Police said: "Officers were called to Row Lane in the village at just after 10am after a member of the public spotted the man, who was in his 80s, lying in the road.
"It appears he came off his bike and no other vehicle was involved. Sadly, he died at the scene."
Paramedics were called to the incident. The road was closed for almost four hours.
The force spokesman said: "His family has been informed and our thoughts are with them at this time."
Anyone who witnessed the crash is asked to call Wiltshire Police on 101. Information can also be reported anonymously, via Crimestoppers, on 0800 555 111.
