RESIDENTS across Fordingbridge and the surrounding areas joined together to celebrate the 75th anniversary of VE Day last Friday (May 8).
Due to the pandemic, plans to hold a VE Day community celebration on the recreation ground had to be cancelled. Part of the plan included decorating the town with homemade bunting.
Many residents donated materials and gave their time to make bunting.
And following an appeal by Fordingbridge Town Council, local businesses and residents displayed the colourful bunting throughout the town.
The remainder of the donated fabric was given to New Forest Sewing to make into scrub bags for NHS staff.
Residents in The Bartons celebrated with music, food and dressing up too.
Norman Henstridge, the vice chairman of the Woodgreen and Breamore Royal British Legion is pictured hanging flags and a banner outside his home.
