THE Royal British Legion's We Will Remember Them Concert in Salisbury will not be going ahead this year due to the coronavirus pandemic.
A statement announcing the cancellation today said that "it is with sadness that the Royal British Legion has to reluctantly announce the cancellation of this year’s annual concert".
The concert which is held in City Hall forms part of the city's Remembrance commemorations. It was due to take place on November 5.
Organiser Brian Easterbrook said: “The RBL feel that it would be inappropriate to hold the concert this year and to put its audience in harm's way during the Covid-19 epidemic."
He added: “Next year will be the centenary of the founding of the RBL, so a special concert to celebrate the RBL will take place in November, 2021 at the City Hall, Salisbury”.
The RBL said it would like to thank everyone for their continued support.
