MOTORISTS are being urged not to leave valuable items in their vehicles.

The warning has been issued by police after a handbag was stolen from a car in Janesmoor car park near Fritham.

The handbag was left in the boot of the car.

A post on the New Forest Cops Facebook page said: "Now that the New Forest car parks are open again the vehicle thieves are back. Already a handbag has been stolen from a car left in the Janesmoor Car Park.

Salisbury Journal:

"Please don’t leave anything valuable in your car and don’t hide them either because you never know who is watching you. This handbag was stolen from the boot," the post added.

"Please take everything with you."
