A CAR crash took place on the A31 in the early hours of this morning.

Firefighters were called to the A31 Eastbound at around 3.15am this morning, after receiving reports of a traffic collision between a car and a van.

Crews from Ferndown Fire Station, Ringwood Fire Station and Burley Fire Station mobilised to the scene of the crash between the junctions of Poulner and Picket Post, which involved two vehicles.

While at the scene, fire crews "helped release" one man from the car, and made the scene safe before leaving at around 4.29am.

A Hampshire Fire spokesperson said: "We were called by the Ambulance service at around 3.15am, and crews from Ferndown, Ringwood and Burley Fire Stations attended the scene. The road traffic collision involved two vehicles on the highway between the junctions of Poulner and Picket Post on the A31.

"We helped release one man from the vehicle and handed him over to the Ambulance service, and our stop message came in at 4.29am."
