RESIDENTS of Woodgreen and Hale in the New Forest set themselves a colourful project during lockdown.
Set by local vicar Nicky Davies to support the NHS and keyworkers, residents have been creating scarecrows or front garden features using only recycled objects or materials, in a task to show "ingenuity and originality and had the ability to make people laugh".
Only items found at home - not brought online or at a shop - could be used, which encouraged everyone to scour their cupboards, storerooms, attics and garages in order to find or make things.
Some items used include old clothes, a scuba diving suit, old draws and carpentry tools or weaving willow.
Judging took place on Monday (May 25).
