A CHARITY providing support to families and children in Tidworth has received a funding boost of £410,000.

Home-Start Kennet was successful in an application to the National Lottery and has been awarded the money over three years, which will go towards supporting its Growing Stronger Together project.

The charity gives home-visiting support to young families facing challenges such as isolation, loneliness, poor health, bereavement and multiple birth.

Last year, Home-Start Kennet helped 98 families and 198 children across the Tidworth, Devizes, Marlborough, Calne, Chippenham, and Pewsey areas.

Tania Rackham, the Home–Start Kennet scheme manager, said: “We are enormously grateful to the National Lottery.

“This incredible amount will enable us to carry on supporting families who are facing significant challenges.

“Now, more than ever, our one-to-one support can help make all the difference to a family going through a difficult time.”

Home-Start, like many charities currently is unable to provide face-to-face support, but says it is adapting its service to ensure families are not left unsupported during the coronavirus crisis.
