SOUTHAMPTON residents will quiz the new leader of the Labour party in a special meeting.
Labour leader Keir Starmer will host his ‘Call Keir’ series of virtual public meetings in Southampton today.
The event will take place on Zoom at 6.15pm and will be chaired by Michael Coombes from Wave 105.
Members of the public will have the chance to ask questions directly to the new Labour leader about the coronavirus, what issues they would like to see raised with the Government and what lessons Labour needs to learn from last year’s election defeat.
The event is part of a series of virtual meetings led by Keir Starmer across the country.
Keir Starmer MP said: “I want to hear directly from people in Southampton about how they are coping with coronavirus. They are the ones leading the fight against the virus in their communities, and they know best what more needs to be done. It is vital that Labour listens. We need an open and frank conversation with the British people about how we regain their trust.”
People will be asked to register to attend, but everyone is invited to join the meeting.
