A WILTSHIRE businessman has donated 20,000 masks to raise funds for the Stars Appeal.

Jamie Cayzer-Colvin, lives in the Vale of Pewsey, also wants to help south Wiltshire businesses get back to work.

Working in partnership with Amanda Newbery and her team at The Chapel, the masks can be distributed to businesses in Salisbury and the surrounding areas in return for donations to the Stars Appeal.

The masks come in boxes of 50 and they are seeking a minimum donation of £50 per box.

All proceeds will go to the Stars Appeal.

Jamie said: “We are fortunate to have one of the best hospitals in the country and it is a privilege to help them when everyday they have been putting their lives on the line in order to help us.

"Due to Covid-19, many of the Stars Appeal fund raising events planned for this summer have had to be cancelled and therefore we are looking for ways to replace that lost income.

"Salisbury and the south Wiltshire area is also trying to come out of lockdown and local businesses are wanting to get back to work.

"These businesses need to ensure that there is a safe environment for their staff and we hope that the ‘Masks in aid of the Stars Appeal Charity’ will help this to happen in these early days."

Boxes are available on the Facebook page: The Chapel Nightclub and Stars Appeal Charity Face Masks, or email Amanda on amanda@chapelnightclub.co.uk.

Amanda said: “When I heard from Penny [Brown, Stars Appeal chairman], about this incredibly generous gift from Jamie, I was very happy to join in and help distribute them.

"With my friends at BID and the Chamber, I figured that these masks would be needed in the coming weeks as our Salisbury businesses get themselves back to work.

"We have matched the prices that we have paid for masks and with these ones, every penny goes to Stars Appeal. Jamie has gifted them and we are distributing for free.”

Penny added: “On behalf of the Stars Appeal I am very grateful to Jamie who is a valued member of our fundraising committee, and to Amanda Newbery, friends and local business woman.

"Jamie’s offer is particularly generous at this difficult time and with Amanda’s help It will raise valuable funds for the Stars Appeal.

"Like all charities our income has been drastically reduced and this is a wonderful gesture to help not only our local businesses return, but go some way to ensure the Stars Appeal projects continue within our hospital. Thank you.”
