NEIGHBOURS of the two women who died in their home on Wessex Road have set up a fundraising page for the children affected.

Aneta Zdun, 40, and her daughter Nikoleta, 18, were killed on Monday afternoon.

Husband and father, Marcin Zdun, 39, has been charged with two counts of murder and is due to appear before Winchester Crown Court tomorrow.

The surviving children, two girls aged five and six, were rescued at the time the incident took place by neighbours Janice and Nick Maher who took them in to look after them and keep them safe.

Now, Janice's daughter Faye Hill has started a fund to help the children.

She said: "My mum was the lady who took the children inside, she got a little bond with them, it's upset her a lot and she thought about how she could help the children in the future.

"We decided to set up a fundraising page so that they've got something for when they're older."

A technical error meant that the first page that was set up yesterday had to be closed and all the money collected so far, around £1,200, had to be refunded.

However, a new fundraiser is now up and running on Facebook. It can be found HERE.

In the past few days, the victims' family have also launched a GoFundMe page to fly their bodies back to Poland and reunite the surviving children with their grandparents.

Faye says her family have been in direct contact with them, and that the victims' family are "happy" for both fundraisers to run at the same time.
