A PRIMARY school in Amesbury has closed one of its bubbles today, after a member of staff started displaying symptoms of Covid-19.
This week schools have started to reopen with social distancing measures in place so children can return to the classroom.
Amesbury Archer Primary School however, which is currently operating a four-day week, has now had to send a class home, as a member of staff waits for coronavirus test results.
In a statement from the school, Helen Donnelly, head teacher, said: "A member of staff at the school is displaying symptoms of Covid-19 and has been advised by NHS 111 to self-isolate until they receive the results of their test.
"I have therefore made the decision, in line with our risk assessment, to close our keyworker ‘bubble’ until we have received the test results. There are no other ‘bubbles’ in school today as we are operating a four-day week.
"If the test results come back negative, we will be in a position to reopen the keyworker ‘bubble’. We would like thank parents for their patience and cooperation during this time."
