READY to get rid of that three-month mop? Well you're in luck, a barbers in Salisbury has confirmed it is preparing to reopen - with a few changes in place.

Jimmy's Barber Shop, on Milford Street, has said in an email to its clients that following government guidelines and advice, it is "preparing to reopen our bookings".

Following the current government guidelines and advice, there will be a slight change to the times and bookings available.

The barbers will have a system in place, including:

  • One-in one-out policy per barber (so no more than three clients at any one time)
  • 45 minute appointments, to give them time to clean down equipment and workstations (appointments are normally 30 minutes).

The email also asks clients to not arrive early for appointments, and where possible, to come to appointments alone, adding "if parents could wait outside or come back where possible to avoid unnecessary contact with other clients we would be very grateful".

Due to the new lengthened appointment schedule, Jimmy's have also had to revise its prices, "to make it financially viable... and to allow for the new restricted business".

The new prices are £15 for children or seniors and £18 for gentlemen.

The owners also request clients to wear a surgical mask if they have access to one.

The email ends by saying: "We will be in touch as soon as the booking system is back up and running, until then stay safe".

We'd love to know if other barbers/hairdressers/salons in the city are also opening, and with what measures.
