MORE hair dressers and salons in the city have confirmed they are preparing to reopen within the next couple of weeks.

Seven barbers have already confirmed to the Journal that they will be reopening, with additional safety measures in place.

Miss Tiff's will be opening from July 4.

The salon has personal protective equipment (PPE) in place for clients and the team, and will be taking temperatures at the door before appointments.

Seven Ivy Hairdressing, Ivy Street.

Seven Ivy Hairdressing will reopen on Tuesday, July 7, and from Monday, June 15 they will be contacting all clients who have had appointments cancelled during lockdown.

From June 22, they will reopen diaries to everyone else and you will be able to make an appointment.

The salon has had a full COVID-19 risk assessment completed and all staff have had COVID-19 health and safety training.

Other measures include:

  • Staff will have their temperatures checked each morning on arrival and again throughout the day. Staff will be wearing the appropriate PPE and screens will be in place to to separate each client.
  • Each work station and equipment will be cleaned after every client as well as using disposable gowns and towels.
  • There will be no refreshments or magazines provided. You can bring your own drinks/magazines but these must be taken with you when you leave.
  • You will need to arrive at appointment time, no earlier, the door will be locked and you will not be allowed into the salon until appointment time.
  • You will need to attend appointment alone. Children will also need to attend alone and parents will have to wait outside.
  • You are advised to wear your own face mask if you have one. You will be expected to use the hand sanitiser provided on arrival into the salon.
  • Card payments only. Prices have increased by £5 per customer to cover the cost of adjustments to appointments and added costs in salon.

Head to Toe is also preparing to reopen.

• All the equipment will be sterilised with high pressure and temperature in autoclave to kill all the viruses and bacteria.

• Disposable files, paper feet towels

• We will also make sure we wear visors/masks

• Clients will have to attend for appointment on their own and exactly on time/

• Clients to wear masks while they’re having their treatment
