DETECTIVE Sergeant Nick Bailey and his wife Sarah have both posted reactions to The Salisbury Poisonings on social media.

After Mrs Bailey appeared to come in for some criticism for the way the show portrayed her during last night's episode, DS Bailey tweeted: "Cut her some slack and be kind".

The tweet, posted at 10.09pm, added: "I’ve seen quite a bit of negativity towards my wife regarding episode 2 and the way she handled it.

"Those scenes with Sarah could never truly reflect the extreme emotion and trauma she went through that day. "

Sarah added: "I’d like to point out I changed the bed (twice), bleached everywhere, I was never told I couldn’t touch Nick and he’s never made tea by putting the milk in first!"

Sarah also used Twitter to correct some of the smaller details in the show that were wrong.

For example, she said she is a "clean freak", and "bleached everywhere", as well changing the bedding Nick had slept in.

In the episode, Sarah doesn't change the bedding before getting into it with the kids, but Sarah said on Twitter that "that wasn't in the script I saw".

The couple received support from the Salisbury community, including leader of Salisbury City Councul Jeremy Nettle, who said "no one can truly understand what you as a family went through".
